The Woman and the Brick Wall

There was a high brick wall. On one side there was a stream, and on the other side there was a thirsty woman. She could hear the babbling of the stream, but how to get to the water? She was like a fish on dry land! The woman managed to wrench a brick out of the wall. Then she threw it over the top of the wall into the stream. Splash! Then another. Another. Another. The splashing sound itself helped soothe her thirst. Another. Splash! Another. Another. And finally: the woman broke through the wall, and she reached the water. TINY T TALES ALES FROM THE SUFIS 159
